A second UNFOLD moment for Emma

One year later, return to silence

About a year ago, I met Emma at her first UNFOLD session. Even then, she showed how vulnerability could turn into light. This summer she returned-in search of stillness after a tough period full of deadlines and stimuli.

Emma wrote the following about her first UNFOLD session:

"Danny Van der Elst is a photographer with an eye for human beauty and emotion," Sarah wrote after our meeting. "His patient guidance makes you dare to expose yourself to the camera and to yourself at your own pace."

At Emmas own pace

That same calmness - no rush, just breath and natural light - also determined the rhythm now. Everything starts with relaxing, only then do we take pictures. Emma once again surrendered to the process, step by step, until at the end she could smile softly at what she once called imperfections.

Looking softer, including at yourself

The images you see here capture exactly that moment of embrace-eyes looking softer, hands no longer hiding but holding. For me, it is the most beautiful proof that an UNFOLD moment does not end at the last click: it grows with the human being who chooses to reappear.

Are you ready for your own UNFOLD moment?

Here I show only a handful of images; a full UNFOLD session will yield dozens of photos-imagesjust for you, as silent memories.
